For other guests, the accommodations in and around Nathiagali are just as good as the rest of the Galiyat region. There are several mid-range options as well as government rest houses. Nathiagali is located at an elevation of 2,509 metres above sea level in Abbottabad District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It is situated around 80 kilometres from Islamabad. Below Nathiagali are the hill stations Ayubia and Dunga Gali. In between these two hill stations along the same ridge road, there is the Ayubia National Park. The elevation in the park is between 1,700 to 2,750 metres.
Most of the properties that made it on our list are located in Nathia Gali. The PTDC Motels are located in different locations along the route. The DoubleTree is located in Nathia Gali. The smaller boutique properties are located from Dunga Gali to Nathia Gali, based on the location where they were built.
The road from Islamabad goes through Murree before entering the Galiyat. A hotel in Nathia Gali is located thirty minutes from the Murree chairlift along the same road. The traffic on the Murree road will not be as dense in this area.

The DoubleTree’s recent arrival to the Galiyat has disrupted the region’s hotel tier and what it looks like from the outside. Includes facilities such as an indoor pool, sauna, spa services, fitness center, restaurant and garden. Guests can expect high quality rooms on the Hilton brand, reliability in service and the opportunity to earn and redeem Hilton Honors points.
This is a good hotel to stay in during the summer if access to a good quality hotel and trails is a priority, and you’re not concerned with hot water or heating. The hotel fills up quickly during the summer, so book well in advance.
Best for: corporate/business groups, foreign visitors, couples, guests who want an Hilton-brand hotel in the mountains and anyone who wants a hotel with a well maintained spa and indoor pool.
My personal favorite here is the Cloud Resort. The Cloud Resort is considered a 5-star hotel within the booking platforms. The Cloud Resort and Cloud Hotel are cited as the top hotels amongst corporate travelers due to facilities and reliability. The most consistent reviews are for the excellent service and the magnificent views from the terrace.
It is important to note when booking such a hotel that what one room faces may not be the view of adjacent rooms.
Pine Peaks Heaven is a 5-star hotel located in Nathia Gali. The hotel offers a 24-hour front desk and free Wi-Fi.

Best for: tourists wanting top-notch services yet not wanting to incur the DoubleTree charges.
Well-reviewed mid-range, Nathia Gali
Fogland crops up in many of the Nathia Gali ‘top tens’ and in the high end of what business people and couples rate for services and overall experience. The name suggests mist instead of fog, which describes what literally happens in the morning with the cloud that forms on the ridge in the summer. The guest reviews mention the breakfast as a positive.
Best for: mid-range guests wanting a solid track record at a good price, including solid services and breakfasts.
Mid-range, Nathia Gali
One of the only properties in Galiyat that consistently ranks in the verified listing sources for the region, sitting between the upper-end boutique structures and budget guesthouses. This is a good choice for travelers wanting Nathia Gali base without high-end rates.

The boutique category in Nathia Gali provides what the chain properties and larger hotels lack: smaller sized, individually decorated rooms, and a personalized level of service which caters to couples and solo travelers. Richmond is listed among many in Galiyat lists, and truly the boutique characteristic outweighs the services.

Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) managed properties at Nathia Gali, Ayubia and Dunga Gali. The PTDC Motels are part of the Corporation's KPK hill stations along the Galiyat.
The PTDC Motels provide a budget, reliable, and functional service. They are located near the park and trails and are the only alternative when the private properties are fully booked. The service is like a government rest house. Confirm the latest booking availability and the dates it will be open for the current season.
Most of the accommodations at Ayubia are smaller guest houses and holiday homes as compared to full service hotels. The chairlift, the pipeline track starting point, and the access to the park are the reasons to stay at Ayubia as compared to Nathia Gali.
For those who prefer trail access in the morning, avoiding the Nathia Gali drive, staying the night at Ayubia lift area is optimal. The quality of your stay here requires confirmation of the accommodation, rather than general assumptions.
For trails and early starts: A hotel at Dunga Gali along the Pipeline Track or Governor House, Miranjani Trail. Ask the hotel how far it is to the trailhead.
For pool and spa: Full service spa and pool, DoubleTree by Hilton.
For dining with a view: Zesora, The Cloud Resorts or Pine Peaks Heaven. Terrace dining and room placement matter. Ask for confirmation.
For budget trip with friends: Fogland, Galiyat Continental, or a PTDC Motel.
For corporate events: DoubleTree for bigger events, while smaller leadership retreats can be organized at Richmond or Pine Peak Heaven with the Miranjani summit as the planned activity.
In the peak season, from June to August, all the named properties are booked during the Eid festival and the 14th of August. DoubleTree takes reservations for these dates several weeks in advance. Blossom and green season in April and May is the best time to plan your visit and do the Pipeline Track before the crowds arrive.
Autumn, around September and October, is the peak season in Galiyat. The Ridge turns colorful and the air is clear. The maximum number of facilities are also open by now after being closed for two months.
The snow season is from Winter, November to February. DoubleTree and some other properties are open during this season. Make sure to check which properties remain open in January before planning.
For any Galiyat Hotel: Make sure to inquire about the room’s direction, whether it has a mountain, valley or parking lot view. Mountain and valley views are worth the stay, parking lot view room at the same price will ruin the experience.
For DoubleTree: Make sure to confirm the pool and spa operation hours for the season.
For PTDC [l?] properties: Make sure to confirm whether the properties are open and guest bookings are being accepted.
For boutique and mid-range properties: Make sure to confirm the hours of operation of heating and the hot water supply.
Do not plan a visit to the Murree Road during peak weekends. The return journey is the opposite when the Nathia Gali exit from Murree is easier. The journey from any Galiyat property after peak weekends involves a high level of patience.
Make sure to book the DoubleTree and upper class hotels for the summer peak at least a month in advance.
