Depending on whether you choose a budget tour group package or a premium private package with flights and a heritage hotel stay with a licensed guide, the cost for a tour package for the Hunza Valley from Islamabad ranges between PKR 25,000 and PKR 35,000 and PKR 200,000 to PKR 250,000 and beyond, respectively. There is a considerable difference in price between the two packages, and it is not solely a luxury difference. In some cases, the difference is in what is offered, how it is organized, and what happens in case something goes wrong.

For PKR 25,000, travelers will get group tours inclusive of local transport and shared rooms in Karimabad guesthouses, with breakfast and local jeep hire for different stops on the tour.
For PKR 40,000 to PKR 50,000, local transport, upgraded rooms, breakfast and dinner, and room upgrades are expected by travelers.
This package is best suited to young travelers and individuals.
Private tours for up to four travelers from Islamabad that include a hotel in Karimabad, a guide for the tour, a jeep to Attabad and Khunjerab, breakfasts and dinners, and site entrance fees are included in this package.
A couple's private tour by road and a five-night stay is around PKR 70,000 to PKR 90,000 for 2026. A seven-night stay including the Gojal and Khunjerab is PKR 100,000 to PKR 130,000.
The price jump from PKR 70,000 to PKR 90,000 at this level in the quote usually includes the hotel. A change from a mid-range hotel in Karimabad to Hundra Serena or Luxus Hundra adds to the price and does not alter the itinerary.
Premier packages provide a Gilgit return flight with a price range of PKR 50,000 to PKR 60,000. Additionally, they include a stay at a heritage hotel at Altit Fort Residence, a lakeside room at Luxus Hundra Attabad, full board meals, a licensed guide, and the flexibility to modify the itinerary based on the clauses in the contract.
PKR 200,000 to 250,000 per person is the range of flight-in and drive-out packages with multiple hotels, all meals and a coordinator throughout the entire trip, with a minimum of two hotels and three hotels, respectively. Above this range is usually reserved for international visitors or groups where the package includes transfers, a full-time guide and specialized access.
Group size. The price per person becomes higher for a group of two versus a group of six because the driver and vehicle cost remains the same for a fixed length of time. A couple may need to spend PKR 60,000 to PKR 80,000 per person to have the same package as a group of six may have for PKR 35,000 to PKR 45,000 per person.
Hotel choice. The price difference between a mid-range hotel in Karimabad and an overnight stay at either Hunza Serena or Luxus Hunza Attabad is sizeable. Both bookings include mountain views. The mid-range hotels go for around half of what the premium hotels cost.
Flight inclusion. The cost of the Gilgit return flight is approximately PKR 50,000 - PKR 60,000 per person and saves the hassle of two days of driving. For most families and couples, this is a worthwhile investment at least once.
Season. July and August saw a 15-20% price hike, compared to the same duration package in September or May. Booking for September means you will get better weather and lower prices.
Length of stay. A ten-night package is not double the price of a five-night package. With a fixed cost for transport, fuel, guide, house staff and accommodation, the price difference for the extra days is far less than the original price.
Five nights. Day One: either travel to Hunza by road or by Air, plus airport transfer. Day Two: Baltit and Altit Forts, Ganish village and bazaar. Day Three: Attabad Lake and Gojal. Day Four: Duikar for sunrise, Khunjerab Pass. Day five: return to Islamabad or fly from Gilgit.
Seven nights. What is described above, plus a night in Gulmit or Passu, Gojal instead of returning to Karimabad, slower pace, glacier walk and Khunjerab receives a full day.
Ten nights. Combines Hunza with Skardu via Gilgit. Five nights in Hunza, five nights in Skardu, with Deosai, Shigar and Shangrila Lake in Baltistan. A package of this length is usually between PKR 180,000 and 280,000 per person, depending on whether flights are included and how the hotels are structured.
Mid-summer is the busiest time in Karimabad, but hotels book months in advance for the blossom season in March and April. Expect to pay about 10-15% more than normal.
The best prices can be found in September and October. Prices drop to standard rates because the crowds are gone, and the light is amazing. The Hunza summer crowds are gone, and it is less expensive than August.
The road from Islamabad to Hunza is 14-18 hours over two days on rough terrain. The vehicle is included in the package, and there is no per-person flight fee.
The Gilgit round-trip flight costs PKR 50,000 - 60,000. The flight takes only about an hour. The most cost-effective way to do this is to fly up and drive back. This saves two days of driving. You get to see the Karakoram Highway and Nanga Parbat on the way back.
The flight is weather-dependent. Most packages that contain a Gilgit flight should mention the road option in case the flight is canceled, and whether the operator or the customer covers the extra cost.
In 2026, couples packages to Hunza range from PKR 130,000 to PKR 200,000 for 5-7 nights via car. For air-included packages to heritage or lakeside hotels, expect to pay PKR 200,000 to PKR 300,000.
The best packages include at least one night at Luxus Hunza Attabad, located on the lake, two nights in Karimabad with sunrise at Duikar, and an entire day for Khunjerab.
Discounted group packages have a much lower cost for the vehicle. However, a large group commitment requires pre-reserved block accommodations. A group of twelve passengers in a Coaster will pay approximately PKR 35,000 to PKR 50,000 each for a standard hotel for a five-night stay.
Corporate groups with planned activities have coordinator fees and potentially the need for two vehicles. However, the savings on a group of fifteen to twenty passengers make the cost much more budget-friendly and still provide hotel services.
The name of the hotel for each of the stops.
The type of vehicle used –saloon, SUV or jeep, and whether or not it is the operator’s or a subcontracted vehicle.
Whether the cost is on a meal basis or whether it is a fully inclusive package and what type of meals are included.
Whether jeep hire for Attabad, Khunjerab and Gojal side roads, and Khunjerab National Park as well as other ticketed sites is included in the cost of the package.
Entrance fees for Baltit and Altit forts.
Guide: licensed, for which days, and whether including the Gojal section.
Flight: included or not, cancellation terms and who retains the difference in cost.
Cancellation policy: What is the cost at fourteen and seven days, and at the last minute.
Anything else listed as exclusions, including tips, personal expenditure, jeep hires, extensions, etc.
The bottom line provides only a starting point for comparison. For PKR 30,000 and PKR 70,000 quotes, you do not know what each of the quotes contains. The guide and/or entrance fees, jeep hire for Attabad, and dinner may not be included in the cheaper quote. Once the fee at destination is added to the quote, the gap disappears or even reverses.
Get both operators to make a separate inclusion/exclusion list. Then compare apples to apples.
When comparing, avoid the following:
Make sure you are given the current 2026 price and not a price for last year’s package.
Make sure you have confirmation for your booking of the hotel.
Find out what the terms are if the flight to/from Gilgit is canceled. A package where that risk is entirely yours is not a complete package.
Do not book based on the headline number without going through the inclusions. The gap between two quotes is usually due to the guide fee, jeep hire, and entrance fees, which add PKR 10,000 to 20,000 per person.
Book hotel and resort packages for the Gojal area at least three months prior to the start of the peak season when Eid weekends are scheduled.
Don’t pay a full advance to an unlicensed Facebook page with no physical address.
What should I expect to spend on a Hunza Valley tour package in 2026? Guests taking part in a private 5-7 night tour package from Islamabad can expect to pay between PKR 65,000 - 130,000 per person, based on group size, hotel choices, and if a flight is included.
What is the lowest price I can expect to pay for a Hunza tour? Budget group tour packages start at PKR 25,000 - 35,000 per person for a 5-night package with Economy hotels and shared transport.
Is a return flight to Gilgit included in the price of the package? No, it isn't. A flight back from Gilgit will cost around PKR 50,000 - 60,000 per person and is usually offered as an add-on or in a separate by-air package.
Are prices higher in summer? July, and particularly August, are about 10-15% more expensive. September is the best month and is standard priced.
Do packages include entrance fees? In standard and premium packages, it does. In budget packages, it usually does not. Ask about it.
What is the price on a Hunza honeymoon package? About PKR 130,000 - 200,000 for a 5-7 night tour package for 2. Air-included packages with lakeside or heritage hotels will go for PKR 200,000 - 300,000 for 2.
